What to Expect
In our first session, I'll get to know what brought you in and how long you've been struggling. Understanding whether this is a first experience helps us set goals together — where you'd like to be six months from now.
Skills to Wellness Therapy is the independent practice of Zaheen Allibhoy, LCSW — offering outpatient therapy for teens and adults across California, ages 13 to 64.

Hello — I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in California. For the past six years I've focused on outpatient care, working with individuals from thirteen to sixty-four.
Before earning my license, I worked in a nonprofit setting supporting adults navigating mood disorders and destructive patterns. I received my Master's from California State University, Long Beach in 2014 with a specialization in Children, Youth, and Families.
"My strengths as a provider are my flexibility, my ability to be straightforward, and my calm demeanor."
I've helped many people through some of the harder transitions of adult life — the ones that don't always have a clean name for what they are. You don't need to arrive with the perfect words. We'll find them together.
Rooted in social work training and shaped around who you are.

Flexibility, a straightforward voice, and a calm presence. Six years of outpatient work has taught me how to sit steadily with people moving through hard transitions.
An eclectic style. Psychoeducation to build insight, CBT to connect thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and strength-based work to remind you of your resilience when it's hardest to see.
Common threads I hear from clients — and a few things I specialize in.
Bringing my full self to the room, so you can bring yours.
Payments for each session are processed through Headway.
A shared understanding makes the work easier. Please read through before your first session.
Appointments are scheduled in advance at a cadence we agree on, based on your goals, treatment needs, and our mutual availability. Payments are made through Headway by debit, credit, or ACH transfer. You may cancel more than 24 hours in advance without charge. Within 24 hours, please reach out — I sometimes have openings that can help you avoid the $50 cancellation fee. No-shows are also charged $50.
I check voicemail during business hours. Messages left outside of normal hours are returned the next business day. If you are experiencing suicidal or homicidal thoughts, are in crisis, or need immediate help, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
I don't answer my phone when I'm with clients. Please leave a message on my confidential voicemail and I'll return your call. If you choose to text me, know that it isn't secure — please do not share personal health information. If I need to cancel, I'll do everything possible to inform you in advance and reschedule promptly.
There are several reasons our professional relationship may end. You may prefer to work with a different provider, or I may conclude you'd be better served elsewhere. Either way, I'll first discuss the reasons with you and, if requested, provide a list of other qualified providers. Ongoing failure to pay, attend sessions, or communicate respectfully may also result in discharge — in which case I'll still make reasonable efforts to reach you and provide referrals before ending our relationship.
Reach out for an initial consultation. I'll respond within one to two business days.
